One of the most difficult obstacles for home maintenance or home renovation projects is reaching high places. This is true for both indoor and outdoor work. For example, painting the siding near the top of a house, or cleaning the outside of a second story window, requires a means of reaching the higher areas without jumping.

Ladders are one way to reach high places, but they tend to be inefficient. The limited foot space allows work to be done on only a small area at a time. Then the worker has to climb down, move the ladder, and climb back up, which must be done several times. Leaning from a ladder to reach a little further sideways can be scary and dangerous.

An UpRight Scaffold can be a better means of reaching those high places. UpRight Scaffolding Systems are a better option than ladders in several ways. First, an UpRight Aluminum Scaffold is safer than a ladder because it offers a much larger range of movement. Second, it has a broader base for stability. Third, there is plenty of room to work so that it workers never have to lean away from the structure. UpRight Scaffolding Systems have an efficiency bonus over ladders as well. Their width allows for a worker to cover a much wider area before having to climb down and move the structure.

An Upright Scaffold can also make it easy to work with large, heavy objects. Drywall is one example. A standard sheet of drywall is too heavy to safely carry up a ladder. It’s also longer and wider than a person, making it awkward to maneuver. Climbing a ladder with a sheet of drywall is virtually impossible. By contrast, climbing an UpRight Aluminum Scaffold and then pulling the drywall up is easy and carries little risk of falling. Installing the drywall is much easier as well. With a wide, stable place to stand, workers can easily put the drywall in place, tape the seams, and paint the surface.

One type of scaffold is the UpRight VX SW Span Scaffold. SW stands for single wide, indicating a standard width of about 26 inches. The Upright VX SW Span Scaffold and its cousin, the DW, are both designed to be flexible, mobile, and convenient. The UpRight VX SW Span Scaffold, like the other models, can be built to varying heights depending on what is needed for a specific project. It is also made to be easily portable. A single worker can move the system by carrying the platform and rolling the base.

The UpRight VX SW Span Scaffold isn’t limited to construction projects. It can be used anywhere a person needs to reach a high, wide area. This could include cleaning the gutters, hanging curtains, trimming tall trees or bushes, or rescuing a kitten from a tree.

The Upright VX SW Span Scaffold works by placing a stable platform on a strong but light and easily movable base. The sides double as vertical ladders, allowing workers to climb up and down quickly. The thinner span allows the scaffold to fit into smaller, difficult to reach areas such as the inside of a closet.
